#MileHighAutumn

Close up of Colorado State Capitol dome in Denver, on a sunny autumn morning with changing tree around building.

Denver residents, we’re at it again with another exciting photo contest! This time, we’re embracing the incredible colors of autumn alongside tips to care for our urban canopy all season long.

Before we dive into a pile of details, here are a few ways to get involved!

Compost via LeafDrop

One of the easiest ways to compost your leaves is by participating in LeafDrop, a seasonal program offered by Ace Hardware, Denver’s Department of Transportation & Infrastructure (DOTI) and the Office of the City Forester. We make it easy to compost your leaves by offeringfree compostable bags!

Apply for a Free Tree

Denver Parks & Recreation wants to give you a free tree. If you have room in the public right-of-way adjacent to your property, you may be eligible to have a free tree planted for you!

Fall Tree Care

People tend to think of spring as the best time to plant, but the truth is, fall is among the best times to plant a new tree! The heat of summer has left behind healthy soil, ready for planting. And there are plenty of sunny days between now and the first freeze to get those roots growing strong.

Leaf your mark: Join our fall photo contest.

Participating is as easy as one-two-TREE!
